JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:  Patient Transporter

DEPARTMENT:  Operations

SUPERVISOR:  Mobile Clinic Team Leader

MobileCare Dental is a growing Van Buren-based company committed to serving the dental needs of senior citizens at long-term care and assisted living facilities.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:  The MobileCare Patient Transporter is responsible for duties including, but not limited to, communicating with nursing facility staff about patients, transporting patients from nursing facility to Mobile Clinic and back, and paying attention to the overall cleanliness of Mobile Clinic.  Although transporting patients and communication with the facility is the primary job, their secondary job is assisting the dentist/dental assistant when needed.  

DESIRED QUALITIES:  Strong communication skills, motivated, self-starter, desire to learn, good at multi-tasking, basic computer knowledge, basic typing skills.  

SALARY:  Competitive Pay.

DRESS CODE:  The MobileCare Patient Transporter should wear scrubs and tennis shoes.  Hair should be a natural color and pulled back if long.  No facial piercings or visible tattoos.  Name badge should be worn at all times.  Hats are not appropriate on the Mobile Clinic.  Head covers that are required for religious purposes or to honor cultural tradition are allowed.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Embrace MobileCare’s Destination, Heart and Route

  • Pursue personal development

  • Work as a team to meet clinic quarterly standards

  • Communicate with nursing facility staff about how MobileCare operates

  • Communicate with nursing facility staff about patient procedures

  • Safely transport patients from nursing facility to Mobile Clinic and back

  • Ensure counter tops are wiped down daily

  • Sweep/mop the floor in between patients and needed

  • Wipe the walls/ceilings of the clinic daily and as needed 

  • Set up/close down clinic each day

  • Communicate with patients about upcoming procedure

  • Prepare patients for dental procedures by making them comfortable and providing any instructions

  • Prepare dental stations for use by making sure it is stocked and organized

  • Assist the dentist during procedures, including but not limited to passing instruments, getting supplies, and using suction tube

  • Sterilizing dental stations, instruments, equipment and placing for easy access

  • All other duties as assigned
